Luis Alberto Benavides, age 40, of Jasper, passed away in the early hours of November 27, 2025, at Deaconess Memorial Medical Center in Jasper. His death has brought deep sadness to his family, friends, and all who knew him, especially those who worked alongside him in the nursing field, where he devoted his professional life to caring for others.
Born on April 4, 1985, in El Salvador, Luis was the son of Jose Luis Benavides and Mariana De Jesus Cortez. His journey from his birthplace to Jasper marked a life defined by dedication, compassion, and perseverance. Those who knew Luis often described him as gentle, hardworking, and committed to helping people, qualities that naturally guided him toward a career in nursing. His calming presence and genuine concern for others made an impact on countless patients and colleagues over the years.
Luis’s family was at the center of his life. He is survived by his parents, who remember him not only as a devoted son but as a source of immense pride. He is also survived by two sisters, Patricia E. Sanchez and Milagro Cortez, who cherished him deeply, along with several nieces and nephews who adored their uncle. A private Celebration of Life will be held at the Jasper Seventh-day Adventist Church on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
