Family and Friends Seek Public Help in Locating Missing Chicago Man Daniel Davis
Family and friends of Daniel Davis, a Chicago resident, are urgently asking for public assistance in locating him after he went missing late Monday night. Davis was last seen following a car accident near 119th Street and Avers Avenue around 11:15 p.m., and he has not been heard from since. Several police departments are coordinating efforts to locate him as concern for his safety grows.
Following the accident, Davis reportedly traveled to his workplace, 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park, where he stayed for several hours. At some point during the early morning hours, he left on foot. The last confirmed sighting of Davis was around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday near 119th Street and Kedzie Avenue.
A close family friend, Ann Stapleton Voves, posted a public appeal on social media urging the community, particularly residents of Chicago’s South Side, to remain vigilant. “Friends, I need your help,” she wrote. “Wendy’s dad, Daniel Davis, has been missing for almost two days following a car accident… Friends and family are worried sick. Please help us.” Her message has been widely shared as people continue to spread the alert in hopes of finding him.
Davis’s cell phone is currently turned off, but investigators with the Chicago Police Department Area 2 have obtained a PIN from T-Mobile that will allow them to track the phone if it becomes active. Authorities are asking anyone with information—whether a call, message, or sighting—to report it immediately to assist in locating him.
In addition to CPD, four local police departments have joined the search. Family members have also reached out to hospitals and shelters in the area, all of which are being monitored for any signs of Davis. At this time, no confirmed leads have emerged.
Those who know Davis describe him as someone who usually stays in close contact with family and friends, making his sudden disappearance particularly concerning. Loved ones fear he may be disoriented or injured following the accident and could unknowingly come into contact with someone unaware he is missing. Public awareness is considered crucial in helping authorities trace his steps.
Residents in the area where Davis was last seen are being asked to check doorbell camera footage, garages, alleys, and yards for any sign of him. Even small details may provide valuable information about his movements after leaving work.
Anyone with information is urged to contact CPD Area 2 at 312-747-8274. Community members who cannot assist directly are encouraged to share the alert widely to increase the chances of locating Davis.
As the search continues, Davis’s family remains anxious yet hopeful that someone in the community has the knowledge needed to bring him home safely.
